Skeched symbols

Hi all.

I'm creating small skeched symbols with specific angled little lines which isn't a problem.

What I'm struggling with is that I want to put the angle dimension there but Inventor sees it as a constrain and doesn't show the dimension on placement of the symbol. I place quite alot of them on a drawing and I was wondering if anyone could please shed some light on this for me. I would gratly appreciate it!

Thanx in advance.

I'm not sure i fully understand your problem, so i'm going to take a guess and assume you want to change the rotation of your symbol.

You can do this by right-clicking on a placed symbol and select "edit symbol".
You will then get a dialog box giving you options for scale and rotation.

Hope this helps.

Thanx for the reply neils,

Sorry if im not very clear.

But what it comes down to is when I place the symbol it should have a dimention on it. In my case an angular dimention

And at the moment if I place that in skech mode it becomes a constraint. I want it to rather be a normal dimention.

Thanx again!

I need a dim on the symbol where the red line is.

It is created in the skech environment so the dim becomes a constraint

Charles,

Yes, the dimensions are a form of a constraint.  If you are able to bring these sketches into other Inventor sketches, why not make the first thing you do, is place an angular dimension.
