Folks:
I've posted some complaints here before but now that SP2 is out I have to
post something positive. Last year I started a school project in Iv5, migrated
it to 5.3(with service packs) with minimal problems. In November I took the
plunge and bought an Iv6 license ('couldn't use the school's software to
complete this project since it may eventually turn into a small business).
Anyway... many of my Iv5.3 idw. files would not open in Iv6 (crash &
burn)! Some of the files that would not open were only single parts to this
assembly (< 100 parts in the assembly) so they were relatively small files.
While still in IV5.3 (prior to installing Iv6) I had converted my idw. files
to AutoCAD dwg. files, and had to re-work some of them (you all know what a
mess that can be!). After SP2. ALL of the idw. files opened with minimal
problems (just a couple detached dim. lines and a couple make view precise
issues). Overall... a satisfied customer. My only complaint now is that the
idw to dwg. conversion still kinda stinks! HP Pavilion 734n, AMD 2400+, (512
Mb - boosted to 1 Gb), PNY nVidia gGforceTi4200 video card.
