Shortening some of the extension of the Dimensions. Don't think it's possib

as you all know, sometimes there are lots of dims and the lines get too busy. you just don't need the entire extension line.

i don't think inventor can do this yet. unless you manually change it in styles

I THINK I know what you're trying to do, but a screen-shot would help.

Shift+Print Screen should still work. Paste it in to MS paint, save as a png or jpg.

My guess is you will need a new style for that drawing, or change the current style in that drawing and hope someone doesn't update it with the library style in the future.

I assume you mean you just want to shorten 1 extension line, instead of both
of them. If you want to do both then just create another style, but if you
only want to change 1, then you could do manually. You could create a sketch
on the drawing, and draw a line where you want the dim to snap to, then
dimension to this line. Then set the properties for the line you created so
that it's either white, or set it on a layer that doesn’t print.

You want to adjust the "Origin Offset" it is "B" on the "Display" tab for your dimension style. But this sets them both for every dimension using that style. If you want them all to be different then you will have to fake them in.

why shift? Print screen alone does it. BTW, alt+print screen captures only the current window to lessen cropping needs.
