Sheetmetal Loft?

Is there a way to create a sheetmetal loft? We need to make features that are essentially contour flanges between two different sections.
-Thanks much.

yes and no

yes you can make a loft between the two sections
but the thickness will not be quite the same.  if you draw two sketches --
both a line - loft between the two and then thicken the thickness will be
right.  no -- you cannot flatten it.

You can flatten it with
href="http://www.spi.de/index_e.htm">SPI Sheetmetal Inventor 5.3
(though the
version doesn't work with Inventor 6 - new version coming out
shortly).

You can also Loft between two or more filled
sections and then Shell to the desired thickness.  This is the method that
must be used to unfold "freeform" models in SPI.

Does anybody know if a feature like this is planned in the future? In ProE it was a sheetmetal blend and we used it heavily.
