Sheetmetal flange mitre problem.

Attached is a sheet metal part that I’m trying to get 2 flanges to mitre in the corners of flange 6 and flange 2 in the browser,

It seems that inventor can’t mitre a corner if the flanges are not the same length?, but it works fine if the flanges are the same length as shown with flange 5 in the browser.

Is there a solution/workaround  to this issue? or maybe I’m not doing it right?

Thanks

Hi JDMather

your miter is whats needed but how did you do it? as when I use the corner seam command it only allows me to select one edge not 2 ?

Forget the Corner Seam Miter for now.

Edit your model to the Offset.png image state above and attach the file here.

You need to create the top flange with offset equal to the width of the matting flange. Then corner both.  Here is your model.

Igor.
