Sheetmetal, Default Corner Relief Miter Gap

In a sheetmetal part, the "Corner Relief Miter Gap" is default set to "Thickness".
Can I set another value in my sheetmetal template or in the style library?
If so, where?

You didn't specify what release you are on. In R2009 you can easily do this
because Sheetmetal styles is now part of the style library.

In previous releases you should be able to save this in a template (I
think...)

I'm using AIS 2009
But I can't find the place in the style library, where I can change the default settings for "Miter Gap".

Geez I just thought this would have been in the styles library...but your
right it appears that its not.....hmmmm I'm not sure why its not there??

Well maybe Seth from Adesk can give us some insight as to why this is not
accessible from the styles?

I just did a little more research and it appears that this is already on the
radar for a future release.

So I guess you can manually enter it, or create a user parameter for it.

Correct...strong radar signature.

Like Troy suggested, the best way to manager this is to create a user
parameter to control the miter/gap value. While IV2009 now uses the style
library, all operations you might have previously managed in a template are
still available. If you create this user parameter and save it within a
template, it will always be available to you; just as before.

Thanks to both of you.

Yes, I can make a user parameter "MyMiterGap" and save it within the template, but everytime I create a new part with that template, I must still manually replace the default value "Thickness" with "MyMiterGap" in that part, or am I missing something here?

No, you are not missing anything. As Seth indicated, we are working on
eliminating these "extra steps" but until that future release is available
creating the parameter and then subsequently editing the default value of
whatever feature parameter you might want to be "MyMiterGap" will work.

Inventor doesn't like a 0-gap and most likely will throw up an error. something like 0.00001 will get you close. If not, then convet it to a weldment and use the Gap-Weld to close it up. Will need to create a new IAM to do the weldment.

So where do we find the value to set the default "Miter Gap"? It is not located under "Sheet Metal Unfold" as help desk search suggests. I can see it in the parameters of the default template (set to thickness), but it is greyed out. A default value of .01" is much more common in our parts.
