Sheet Metal Material Size in IDW Properties

Hi,

Can I extract the Flat Pattern Extents and use that in an IDW properties as material shear size?

Currently, we manually enter the material shear size in the title block and this is causing problems if we don't remember to change that whenever the model changes size.

Thank you in advance.

yep just place a text field on the idw..

in the text dialog box select "sheet metal properties" for the type and the appropriate length/width for the "property" dropdown.

When the part is placed on the drawing the extents should be autopopulated

GREAT,

That worked.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Now I'm pushing it 🙂  is there a way to remove the "in" unit from the length & width?

Thanks

Is white-out acceptable 🙂

I'm not sure if it can be removed or not..

White out will have to work if nothing else will 🙂

Thanks again

You just found a bug.

You can't remove the units. These seem to be Exposed Parameters from the flat pattern of the part but they are not available on sheet metal parameters in part. Normally you can remove units, customize precision, trailing and leading zeros there.

I think they need to be in the folded model parameters so we can mark export them to iproperties and customize units, precision, etc.

This needs fixing.

EDIT:

Forgot to give you a link on how I deal with sheet metal exports.
