Sheet metal bend

Hi guys
Does anybody have a suggestion on how to create this bend using the sheet metal mode. The bend should be a certain radius on the top (see attachments)
Thanks!

Use the flange command and create your tab with a bend

Then create a sketch on that face outlining the profile

Finally cut out what you don't need with cut command.

You could also:

Create a sketch on the face that the tab will connect to.

Project the edge where the bend will be and draw your tab profile.

Use the face command to give it thickness.

Then finally add a bend at the edge.

Let me know if you need more help with this.

I did it using contour flange and it gives me good results (see attached). I did a sketch in the plane of the edge where I want the flange and added a straight line for an axis at a predetermined distance where I wanted for radius of the bend. Then just created contour flange using one of the edges and the axis from this sketch.
However I tried the first method you suggested and it was good visually but I can't control the radius on the top because the flange is created in different direction from what I need and when I make the cut the radius is derived from it so I can't controll it. Maybe I couldn't expain precisely what result I was seeking.

Thank you for your help! 🙂

Contour flange works as well - many ways to skin a cat so to speak. Glad you got the results you were looking for.
