severity: SEVERITY_ERROR, facility: <Unknown Facility> ($FFFFFFFF)

I think I broke my model.
I had a crash. First my dialogs were loosing their color, then Poof. I had saved just before I started the constraint I was putting in when it crashed but when I try to open I get:

(I got rid of some of the network names)

severity: SEVERITY_ERROR, facility: ($FFFFFFFF)
Error opening a storage in database \\-\home\-\My Documents\Inventor\-\TempAssembly.iam
severity: SEVERITY_ERROR, facility: ($FFFFFFFF)

Error opening a storage in database \\-\home\-\My Documents\Inventor\-\TempAssembly.iam
severity: SEVERITY_ERROR, facility: ($FFFFFFFF)
Error opening a storage in database \\-\home\-i\My Documents\Inventor\-\TempAssembly.iam
The database in \\-\home\-i\My Documents\Inventor\-\TempAssembly.iam could not be opened

I'm going to try rebooting to see if that changes anything. Luckily the old version opened, I was worried that the mess may have happened before my last save. (I should change that so I at least have a couple steps back to count on.)

Does anyone know how I could fix it, or even just what happened?

So it was just timing? I resorted to the old version and it happened to be after the network problem had passed?

(I wouldn't be surprised if it was a network problem. I also wouldn't be surprised if IT was watching me type this while they should be straightening up whatever they did.)

I think you're afraid you are becoming paranoid. If you make a cap out of
aluminum foil, they won't be able to read your thoughts. It's cheaper than
lining the interior walls of your office with aluminum foil

Plus facilities maintenance can't file a grievance about it.

(Forgot to say, problem is gone. It looks like it was just timing, wahtever had been broken was fixed by the time I tried again.) Message was edited by: Dan_Inv9_sp4

I'm having the same problem on our company's machines. I have attached a screenshot of the error that comes up.

This problems comes up whenever a drafter tries to open a drawing file. It is also intermittent (sometimes it opens without any problems).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only change we have made to our normal routine is adding a standardised border. Edited by: JosephDeluca1017 on Feb 19, 2009 4:42 PM

Looking at the drive letter, are these files stored
on a server that is being used by other in your office/building?

I had this same exact error during an Assembly file after using "Inventor Studio". Anyone please help.

Studio seems to dirty memory more than any other application. If you do a
couple of renders it will "consume" your memory leaving you with little
available memory to work in. Closing IV and restarting seems to correct the
memory issue

It seems that your network is disconnected then or this assembly is moved/deleted/renamed. You should check manually whether this assembly is available when those error messages pop up.

The old version should be able to be used because it is just a copy before you save new version. Please report this issue to Autodesk if you can reproduce it repeatedly.

Thanks,
Marshal

Hello,

I was working on my assembly House.iam (11306 Total occurrences in active document/987 Open documents in session) when suddenly my Inventor 2021 turned off.
When I opened assembly again, I got 4 error messages: SEVERITY_ERROR, facility: <Unknown Facility> ($FFFFFFFF).
I could not edit or save House.iam assembly, I could not make ,,Pack and Go,,, I was just able to export STEP file.
My project option ,,Old Version To Keep On Save,, was on 0, it means I did not have any backup of assembly in folder OldVersions.
I tried many things and at the end I was able to open House.iam without any errors.
I did this:
1. I put ,,1,, In my project option ,,Old Version To Keep On Save,,
2. Right click on House.iam in windows explorer and click on ,,Pack and Go,,. I saved it on another disk. Then I turned off Inventor and turned it on again and I have chosen new created .ipj file as a active project. Then I opened House.iam assembly from new location and I got just 2 error messages: SEVERITY_ERROR, facility: <Unknown Facility> ($FFFFFFFF).
3. I turned off Inventor and turned on again and have chosen .ipj file which I normally use as a active project.
4. I turned off Inventor and turned on again and created totally new Test.iam file and I put into this assembly as a subassembly, my House.iam assembly.
5. I did not get any error messages and I was able to edit and save Test.iam.
6. Then I opened just House.iam and I was able to continue in my work. 🙂

Hi  ,

I do not need to try things you want me to try because if you read my reply to dan_inv09 again, then you will see in point 6. that I already solved problem with severity error.

But thanks for your effort anyway 🙂
