service pack 3

Service pack 3 does not appear to install. After running installation the instructions indicate to confirm successful to verify version under help menu, about Inventor.
I have run the install several times and the program still shows SP 2.

Did you read the 2008 SP3 Readme? There are preparations needed before

I did read it and followed the instructions that applied. The service pack runs and appears to be successful but the program indicates that it is sill at sp2.

Try uninstalling service pack 3 from the control panel > add/remove
programs, then reinstall service pack 3 with your antivirus services all
turned off. What version of antivirus are you currently running on this
machine?

If service pack three does not show up in control panel > add/remove
programs, then it is not installed.

Hi,
you can check some file to see whether SP3 was installed, such as
path>\Autodesk\Inventor 2008\Bin\ fb.dll(Right click it, see the version
property of it). If it's 342, SP3 has installed successful.
If not, open register, find the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion12.0\ProductVersion,
modify it to 254 or 284 or 320, then try to install SP3 again.
