Serious Error... again

Anyone know what it means when I get a Serious Error. Other than Inventor
just wasted about 2 hours of my time? The error message says, "Invalid
reference to segment object used" and it comes up when I try to open an .idw
of a .ipn. I would really like to know how to get around this, or at least
what caused it so that I don't get another one.

Thanks.

Whoo hoo! Thank goodness for Old Versions. I lost a little bit of work,
but not much.

Ever feel like your talking to yourself?

In making assumptions I have come to this conclusion. Inventor with its segmented database is very sensitive towards network hiccups. Occaisionally when a segment is being written to a file a network glitch occurs and hoses your file.

I think most those segment errors are indeed
from networks glitches, I saw it once on R6SP1 and I work from my HDD; haven't
seen it on SP2 ... yet! ... Chant: "...don't change the subject ... don't change
the subject..." (bite tongue ... C'mon Larry! ... harder 'n that!)
