Selection Priority Incorrect

I am having an issue with the selection priority in Inventor 2014.  It no longer defaults to "Select Faces and Edges" when in a part and "Component Priority" when in an assembly.  In a part I can't select a face until I switch it and in an assembly it selects faces instead of components.  Is there a setting somewhere for this?

Have you rebooted and the behavior persists?

Have you installed Service Packs 1 & 2?

Please look at the images below. The select priority once set it will stay in that setting. To tell which the default is you can see it in the Quick access menu (but you may need to display the whole list to confirm the settings). I’ve included one for the assembly and part.

If after resetting the setting they don’t take please consider using the Inventor reset utility which can be found at this link  http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticl...

Thanks for the information and reset utility.  Unfortunately this did not correct the issue.
