Section view placement

Hello everybody,

I'm using Inventor 2011 and I have a little problem with a section view /idw/. How do I make it so that the section line is in a precise position off a surface? Like in the attached picture [view-A].

Hi

Can't remeber on 2011. but give this a crack.

Right click on the section line and select edit.

This will place you in the Sketch editing environment. You can now project geometry and dimension your section line to the projected geomerty.

NOTE: The section line has automatically projected geometry and has constrained itself to this geometry, you may need to delete the existing constrains and projected geometry before doing your own.
