Section of Assembly/Part

I have created a Car Body in which I need a 30cm slice/section thru it. I
created 2 work plains and on them I sketched a rectangle and then
extruded/cut to leave the "slice/section" perfect in viewing it in Inventor.
The problem is the stuff I "sliced" away is still there. Is there any
command that will permately get rid of the other stuff,.,,ie...the part i
cutr away.

Permanently, sure.

Use the Delete Face tool with "lump" selection.

A "lump" is a disjoined solid.

I have downloaded it, zipped it up and reposted it. It was killing OE in the unzipped
format.
