scale changed during Insert AutoCad file

I have inserted an AutoCad file into the ipt. Upon bringing a view into the idw. I have found that the scale has changed by about 4000%, what could be the possible reasons for this? I inserted the file like I always do. Thanks........ David..............

Oh yah, also have you ever experienced this. If during Insert AutoCad drawing I have the Acad drwg open it gives you a message that the Acad file is open and must be closed. Which I do, or I could close Acad altogether. I still get the same message. The cure you ask? Close Inventor. This is the only way I get the message cleared, I guess Inventor is still holding an association to the Acad dwg, Even when Acad is closed. Very frustrating and time consuming!

When inserting the AutoCAD file you may have imported it as a
difference

unit factor. For instance part was created in inches and you bring it in as
meter.

Make sure the import measurement unit is set right.

You can find the settings in the DWG File Import Options window

which will appear if you select Option within the first window when
inserting

the AutoCAD file.

I don't think that was the case, wouldn't that make the scale some multiple of .03937(conversion of metric/imperial). The Acad dwg was and always has been in Imperial format. My .500" dim changed to 19.99" and my 8.125" dim changed to 319.98". Thanks...David

Hmmmm 329.98/8.125 = 39.38xxxxxx

mm to inch = .039xxx
cm to inch = .39xxx
meter to inch = 39.xxx
dm to inch = 393.xxxx
hm to inch = 3936.xxxx
km to inch = 39379.xxx

Could it possibly be importing to Meter. 8^)

Are you reading the dimensions on the AC file or measuring the dims
themselves. Someone may have used a dimscale on the dims and therefore the
part was scaled in AC before it was brought in...?

Sorry, the math does work out at 319.98/8.125, I thought you were using 329.98/8.125. I looks like it did convert. this I don't understand. I have repeated the Import
Acad function, and the setting is definetely inches, I am positive I didn't select metric originaly, I seldom work in metric. Unless it was defaulted, but the repeat proves that wrong.

Forgive me if I am wrong, I forgot my computer glasses at home today and am having a heck
of a time. 8^) but I think I typed it wrong but calculated it right.

319.98/8.125 = 39.38xxx

No, it dimension to be .500" and reads. This file has been around for a long time and is too scale, we use it as a dxf. So it's proven.

Post the file at CF.
