SBOX - Trouble with sketched symbol placement

The following has been posted in the CF:

============================================

In this idw, I have the sketched symbol called "Groove Detail" with an insertion point on the top left corner, and connection points onthe other three corners. You can see in the idw, I've already inserted the first detail, scaled at 0.5 and eyeballed to be close to tied on the top border of the drawing. When I try to drop a second Groove Detail down, I can place it most anywhere, except where I need to. I wish to drop it such that the two boxes are both tied to the top border, and the right edge of Detail A is up against the left edge of Detail B. Everytime I move Detail B the second sketched symbol jumps down and to the left. If I try to place it properly during creation, it drops the second sketched symbol as centered on the top right conection point of Detail A, rather than coinciding the Detail B insertion point with that top right connection point of Detail A.

Is there a problem with my Sketched symbol? Am I doing something wrong during placement or creation? Is this a bug? Any insight is appreciated.

Hmmmm, if you create a new sheet and place the symbols, they act correctly.

Something's definitely wacked. I created a fresh symbol and my symbol would
not connect to your first _GrooveDetail_, but would connect to a second
_GrooveDetail_ that was placed.

WHY we can't select a ConnectionPoint and drag Symbols has been a MAJOR
source of frustration when working with symbols for me.

LOL, misery loves company. I just don't recall too much about this problem in this forum. I finally worked around it by zooming in as tight as graphically possible and just eyeballing it to almost-but-not-quite overlap, knowing that the plot won't show the gap. Stupid workaround, considering the software should be operating properly.

Still odd though, why it keeps jumping the second sketched symbol off, and even more curious why it gives me a leader half the time when I never wanted/asked/tried-to-get one.

workarounds...workarounds...why not be able to work with?...workarounds...

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the symbol is a DWG
import-maybe way too much geometry not locked down or something... it sure
seems that IV "wants" to lock it (on the original sheet) but kinda gives up
and drops the ball.

Aggravating, I know.

Problem SOLVED!! Or, at least understood. For some reason, the first Groove_Detail got tied to the isometric view, so like a view dependent sketch, you couldn't do much with it. I ended up having to delete the Groove_Details and re-inserting them (making sure not to have the isometric, or any, view active). Now they go in fine and for the most part behave as expected.

Only way I found this was I had to move the iso view and suddenly the Groove_Details were moving with it, he-he. Guess it's just a word to those that start scratching thier heads to look for this as a possible problem in the future.
