Saving .ipt and .iam files problems

Why am I having some time problems saving the files?
My setup is:
Multi User =off.
Use Relative Path=True
Old Versions To Keep On Save=0
Workgroup search path= my project file directory.

I have all files on local drive, But connected to network.
Some times during the save error message will say something like
“...version xxxx.0006 not found and cannot save the file”.
At that moment saving is impossible.
Also if I am saving an assembly and select modified files to be saved , sometimes the same message comes out.

Sometime during after the save I get a file with ..name.newVer.ipt This is frustrating and wasting my drive space. Especially when I get name.newVer.newVer.*

Is there a fix or am I doing something wrong.
