Saving IAM and IPN problem

I have looked on the discussion groups and seen nothing concerning this problem. IV5.3 never had this occurance that we knew of either.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

If I have an IAM or an IPN with 30+ part I invariably am going to have library parts. Also I will have IPARTS as well.

All of my IPARTS and library parts are listed in a subdirectory under my working directory. Why? Because that is the way it is and I have no control on that.

If I do a rebuild to an assembly I get a screen stating the current IAM / IPN needs to be updated along with the iparts (gaskets). See attached file called savefile.bmp.

Now if you look at the attachment called projectscreen.bmp you'll see the library directory is in red. This indicates that it is "read only" we really need this to have "read / write" access.

Somehow the permissions are setup in IV6.0. I have network admin. privlegdes and it should not be a problem. I have the network server shared and have full access etc.

How can I change the "read only" to be "read / write"?

Sorry no place to add attachments.

All libraries are read only.  You need to
redefine the path as something else other than a library.

That's true Kathy but if he's talking about iparts
then they should not need to be updated.  If you see his attachments (see
note below) it looks as if it's trying to save the ipart children.  That is
allowed internally by Inventor.

Sounds suspiciously like the ipart save bug I've
been fighting for years now.

By the way Steve you need to post attachments
(zipped if possible) in the customer files group: (sorry should have mentioned
that)
