Save As .jpg - what happened?

OK, please tell me I'm not losing my mind as fast as my hair.

I recall being able to save a part file as a .jpg and I swear I was able to do so in IV6. As a matter of fact I've done just this but can't recall if it in fact was rev 6 or if it was on rev 5.0???

Anyone?......................Beuller?........................................Beuller??

I know we were able to save seperate parts as .jpg but assemblies could not, they had to be saved as bmp. Now the only choice we have is .bmp.

Is this typical of rev 6?

I think Charles Bliss has an add on to print to
jpeg's.  Try

I'm positive Joe.

I know for a fact the .jpg file option was listed in the "pull down" list of "save as".

I did this for a part a matter of less than 3 months ago.

I just need someone to verify if it was an option on rev 5 and no longer on rev 6 or if there's a problem locally....like somewhere between the chair and the keyboard.

No, we're not allowed here to have any kind of add in like that.

I have rev 4-6sp1 at home, I need to verify it there tonight. This is driving me nuts.

Just another comfirmation .... it's between the
chair and the keyboard <g> IV has always been bmp, the jpeg was an add-on
or done in another app.  Wish it were otherwise.

I have never seen Inventor save to a jpeg. I have seen a Microsoft
viewer ( not sure of the name) which could save as jpeg from Explorer
from a bmp. Perhaps this is what you were remembering because it was
fast and easy. The add-in on my site actually creates a bmp then
converts it to a jpeg.

Consider talking with you company about their policy of allowing
add-ins. There are several free add-ins available which could provide
you with sizable returns. Perhaps they have a process for certification
or something to allow them.
