Running low on address space - help

I have been running IV5.3 for about 6 months now. Yesterday was the first time I ever saw this error. While working away - the memory usage for IV just started climbing... eventually giving this error...
"Running Low On Address Space
-Your inventor session has used up more than 80% of the available address space. It is highly recommended that you close down some documents before proceeding further".
I run a Dell Precision 530 - P4 Xeon with 1Gb ram. This also occurred on a P3 clone computer...
Help!

I saw the same message last week, when saving an assembly
made from a 60MB Step file. It took a little babysitting, but everything
turned out OK. I'm using a Dell Precision 620 Dual P3 with 1Gb RAM. What were
you doing, when you received this message?

Mike

First time it happened i was importing a large SAT file (80mb). Second time, i was placing a constraint in a midsized assembly (~100 parts). Eventually the ram usage went as high as 900mb (in task manager for inventor.exe) till it eventually crashed.
