Two questions come to mind: Did it successfully
map to F4 and not just 4 and does the F4 key on the keyboard work?

"F4" Works on the keyboard......and in mouse
properties I enable both thumb buttons and using the KEYSTROKE I hit "F4"
Key.....Still nothing.....I tested in Excel (F4 in office will do the last
command) and that did not work either.

Did you enable the Program specific buttons and
pick Inventor?

You do it in the Mouse dialog. There's a tick box
to enable program specific buttons at the bottom of the dialog and then a
Settings button over to the right. You pick Inventor in the settings
dialog.

Just tried it and even rebooted (also added excel)
and both still do not work....I hate roller coaster rides....Do you have the
same mouse?

I have Explorer 3.0 Optical but no reason it
shouldn't work with the cordless. The only difference is the way it's connected;
it gets the same information flow wire or no wire. I'll put a cap in CF to see
if we're talking the same settings.

I have an Explorer 3.0 optical, but a wire or no
wire shouldn't make any difference; same info/different medium. I put a cap in
CF to see if we're on the same page. If not, as I said, it's much less
involved with the Intellipoint 3.2 drivers because it will map F4 directly
from the dropdown for the thumb button. The difference being the thumb button in
3.2 is a global setting.
