Has any one seen the error message 'Resize Work plane Failed'
. . and did u find a solution.
it makes a copy of the Work Plane
that is not realy there and wont go away.
Thanks MatB
Can you attach file here that exhibits this behavior?
Thanks JD for the reply
. . attached is a screen shot of the error message,
with the real Workplanes to the left,
and the Ghost WorkPlanes on the right.
My workflow was to simply 'move' an existing, 'Resizable' Workplane.
Some Sketches also wont let me see the Dimensions,
unless in Edit mode. Is this common, or relevant?
. . i would have to Dumb down the file if i sent it maybe!!
i have spent an ocean of time on it.
The file is for an Excell driven Skeletal Derived **** and is stable.
. . my work around is not to move the WPs
Thanks MatB
Are you are current on all SP's and hot-fixes for your version/product?
Thanks Blair
The 'Communication Center' Says I am up to date in my IV2014.
Can i rely on this function. or should i always check the web.
MatB
Use the web, there are links at the bottom of the forum for Service Packs & Updates.
Thanks Blair
i already had SP1 installed, and the other 'HotFixes' did not seem relevant to my 'Ghost' Work Plane issue.
I assume the 'Read Me' is there to help u decide whether u need the update outside of a Service pack being issued.
. . i dont have W8.1, (W8 currently) so i dont want that update in HotFix form if i can help it.
. . So no, i dont think its an update issue.

You already stated what the error message said - the screen capture does not provide any useful information.
Find the red End of Part marker in the browser.
(End of Folded on sheet metal parts EOF)
Drag the red EOP to the top of the browser hiding all features.
Save the file with the EOP in a rolled up state.
Right click on the file name and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Attach the resulting *.zip file here.
or
send to jmather_at_pct_dot_edu but I am very busy this time of the year.
You will get faster help if you roll up the EOP and attach here.
Thanks JD
. . on systematically deleting all but one Work Plane of the 2.5meg Skeletal file,
i seem to have found that my Part Views, when deleted, allowed the workplane to be moved.
i did not get an error message saying Resize Work plane Failed.
So at the moment, i will delete all my part Views and remake them with the same name.
Attached the is file that still has the error. Delete the Views and its good again.
Could my Views have got confused. What do u think JD
