say I have a small design finished and fully detailed. Now they come back and
say that we need another one of those designs, only slightly different. Now
the two of them are in the same shop-order so therefore stored in the same
folder and created using the same project folder. Now, is there any way, to
re-use the first .idw of each part, replacing the .ipt it's looking at with
the new, re-designed .ipt???? I thought that there might be something in DA,
but I'm not seeing it so far. Any help would be appreciated.

Where did i-parts come from? Maybe my explanation wasn't clear enough. Per the
example above, the second assembly (similar to but different from the first)
is done. The parts in that assembly have slightly different names (say
"widget_B" versus "widget_A".) So now what we are trying to do is find a way
to copy the .idws that are already done for the first assembly/design and
reuse them by replacing the reference to "widget_A" with a new reference to
"widget_B" in the .idw. And hopefully not losing all our dimensions, otherwise
I'd just blow away the views and start over...

I was thinking you could use iparts if widget a
& b were similar and you wanted to keep them that way.
