Removing added parts from View Representations in an Inventor assembly

Hi, i have an assembly in Inventor with a number of view representations, in one, for instance, i have a part visible thats turned off in all the other view reps - what i want to know is if i add a new instance of the part (or even a diff part) that i want to be visible only in this rep, i have to go thru the (sometimes painstaking!) process of selecting all the other view reps and turning the new part(s) off - am i missing something or is there an easier way to do this? Thanks for any help.

You can lock view representations (right-click any view rep in the browser and choose Lock).  In a locked view rep, any components added to the assembly will automatically be set to invisible.  So, lock all of your view reps except the one before you add the components.  You can unlock them later if you need to modify them.
