Rebuild All Errors

When I do a "rebuild all" to a large complex .ipt I get a long list of
errors to a perfectly fine file. Smaller, less complicated files are fine.
Anyone else notice this?

What are your errors exactly? Larger more complex parts do offer more
opportunities for errors, but I have never had a larger part/assembly file
get errors just because it is large.

I'm leaving for the day, but I'll try and list a few for you tomorrow. I
posted this to see if anyone else noticed this or am I alone. If i'm alone I
have modeling issues.

This is the reason you should run "rebuild all" frequently while building a
part. Most build features don't force a rebuild. I think this is to
improve the speed of the program. Often, there will be an error with a
feature that doesn't show up until you do a rebuild all. Something that
worked, but by all logic shouldn't have. If other features downstream
utilize that feature, they will also fail with a rebuild all. The first
thing to do is move the EOP to below the highest error. Try fixing the
feature without changing or destroying the geometry, then slowly step down
the EOP. This may automatically fix may downstream errors.

I have also had a few cases, especially in complex parts, where an upstream
feature suddenly became corrupted, causing a domino failure.

Thanks for the reply and advice. I'll be sure to "rebuild all" as I go along
in the future. I think Autodesk should make mention of this quirk somewhere.

See CF "rebuild errors". Do a rebuild for a list of errors. By the way,
everytime you do a rebuild, a different list of errors come up.

Mike -

There are two files from you in Inventor Customer Files. They
appear to be duplicate with same byte count but slightly
different post names? If this is so, please respond and I will
remove the second one since they are large. See below.

Thanks -

Sorry Anne, don't know what happened to the first attempt. Delete the
smaller of the two. Thanks

Mike,

I logged a defect against this (Internal tracking # 523642).

I don't know, if that helps:
I was able to move the EOP marker fully up, and then down, step by step.
Only one problem with Fillet78
But when I tried to do a Rebuild All after that, there were a lot of errors,
first problem with Loft5. My system: IV6 SP2

I've noticed that moving the EOP is no substitute for "rebuild all". Hidden
errors pile up in the model over time if you don't run rebuild all
regularly. This is especially true if you are doing a lot of edits to the
part and have moved the EOP up in the tree to make them.
