Ray Tracing whilst using half section view

Ray tracing disables when I use the half section view, when I turn it on again it disables the section view. Is there any way I can see a cross section of my assembly in realistic mode with ray tracing?

This is probably something you'd only want to do in fairly special circumstances, but you could use an assembly cut to "section" the model instead of using the actual section views.  That should get you past the mutually exclusive Section and Ray Trace settings.

Thanks for the reply, could you point me in the right direction to do that.

I have tried searching the help but its referring to a "place views" tab, which I have not got (Inventor 2013 profesional).

You might need to create a view rep with a assembly feature such as a cut through all your items. You can then use the Render to create your section view.
