"Error in reading RSe Stream" and more issues! Inventor 11

My computer went down two weeks ago, bad enough that I had to get a new hard drive and start over. When I went to install Inventor, I kept getting Errors 1335, 1334, then error 1406 during installation. I seemed to have gotten beyond those, but when I went to open certain assemblies I started getting "Error in reading RSe Stream (4 not equal 2)" and "Error in reading meta types in RSe Segment AmDcSegment in..." and them it shows a certain file it doesn't like, sometimes repeating for multiple files. I clicked on the communication icon in the lower right of my Inventor screen and it said a maintenance update was available. I installed SP1 and tried again. Same problem. I clicked on the icon again, and it told me SP2 was available. I installed it and tried again. Same problem. I clicked on the icon again, and it told me SP3 was available. I installed it and tried again. Same problem. I clicked on the icon again, and it told me SP4 was available. I installed it and tried again. Now I can't open Inventor at all. Inventor crashes just on trying to open up. I've been running Inventor 11 since it came out with no issues whatesoever. Now I'm two weeks behind with no end in sight. Can anyone shed light on this for me?

Was any Anti-Virus software on your machine prior
to installing IV? What version of O/S are you using?

I seem to have fixed the issues of not being able to load up, but am still running into the "Error reading RSe Stream (4 not equal 2)" on random files. I'm runnning Windows XP, have no antivirus installed and the firewall is turned off. I can't find this error on any searches on the net- no one seems to have had issues with it but me? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am thinking that somehow this install is bad. I
would un-install IV along with ADMS and all related directories

 

XPsp2

Log-in as Administrator

Register Excel by running it

Install IV and register

Install IV sp's

I

Thank you for the suggestion- I tried that last week- came up the same. What is most odd to me is that my co-worker, who did not have any issues prior to this fiasco, also has the same error come up when he tries to open the same files I have had issues with. It's almost as though some of the files have somehow corrupted themselves, but at random. I'm so ready for this mess to be done.

That CAN happen if they wer on the bad hard drive. Have you
had someone try a File Recovery on the old drive?

you for the suggestion- I tried that last week- came up the same. What is most
odd to me is that my co-worker, who did not have any issues prior to this
fiasco, also has the same error come up when he tries to open the same files I
have had issues with. It's almost as though some of the files have somehow
corrupted themselves, but at random. I'm so ready for this mess to be
done.

I have not tried that- Once I got a rreplacement drive working I was able to view the other drive in Windows Explorer and copied over our whole Inventor file base to a new Network Drive. Most files seem to be working fine- it "just happens" that the files I REALLY need to work with right now are the ones causing problems. Suggestions?

File Recovery software $50.  Real cost PRICELESS. I
recovered an entire 250GB Drive that got corrupted..... saved my
bacon!

 

Active File Recovery and Active Partition Recovery at

I ended up having to buy both Softwares in order to do a full
recovery of the entire hard drive.

I also have the same problem. An error message as this "Error in reading RSe Stream" appear when I try to open random assemblies. I have Inventor 2012, and I tried to open one of my files on one of my university computer and appear that really annoying message!!!!! What is going on :s

I have the opposite issue, we use 2012 on the windows XP Dell Insperon computers at school, and I tried to install Inventer 2012 on my windows 7 desktop ( same prosseser ,Intel Core I5) but i kept getting "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)." So I gave up, now have 2011 installed and I get "Error in reading RSe Stream'" when i try to open anything saved using 2012.     Any Help would be Greatly Appreciated
