Quantity of a feature to update with length parameter

Hi All

Im not sure if this can be done but here goes.

Say I have a flat piece of metal that is 1000mm in length and has 5 holes running down the center line, the first hole starts at 100mm and then equispaced at 200mm with the last one being 100mm from the end, nice and even.

What I would like to do is change the length of the metal from 1000mm to say 2000mm and have the holes update evenly to add another 5 holes keeping them equispaced as in the 1000mm length metal.

I am thinking I need to add parameters to the rectangular pattern array feature (which is how the first holes were placed) linked to the length of the piece of metal.

Any input would be appreciated.

Cheers

Spoine,

You probably want to use the floor() or ceil() functions in teh parameter dialog when calculating the number of necessary holes to cover the length of your part while keeping the pitch distance between the holes equal.

Attached is an example. Change the parameter called length from 1000 to 2000 mm and see what happens.

Your a star!

Thats exactly what I was after.

It was just a matter of putting the parameters in the right spots.
