Are you trying to extrude that from cylinder (making a hole of cylinder)?

If yes, when you start a new sketch select the plane that passes the center of the cylinder and make a sketch there, when seeing from top you can project geomtry to the cylinder end and side edges and use those edges to position your sketches by putting few constraints (constraint center of your circle sketch to edges of cyliner)..

then do extrude (subtract) (if this is what you were trying to do..

You can project a 2d sketch curve to a surface using the "Project to Surface" command available from the 3d sketch environment. There are 3 options (1) project in one direction (typically normal to teh 2d sketch) (2) wrap the sketch around the cylinder, or (3) project each point on the sketch to the closest point on the surface (i.e. along the radial direction)

3D Model tab, click drop down list of Create 2D Sketch then select Creat 3D Sketch.

Hi,

I don't have 3D Model tab, But Model Tab only (see capture.bmp).

I am trying to project the cercle on the cylinder... so it can be cut out as a flat parten.

Hi,

You are in assembly level environment so that have no 3D sketch entry.

Select test 47:1, RMB and click Edit in context menu. Switch to Model tab then you can get the 3D Sketch entry.

Or just new a part then you can get the 3D Sketch entry.

Look at the thread Odd-shaped Hole in Sheetmetal Part; this may have some useful techniques for you.
