Problems with sweep on curve..Possible? (Picture)

Hello everyone,

I have a slight issue with a profile I am drawing!

On the top surface It needs a ellipse curve, but on the end of the chair has a profile/detail already on..

Basically as per picture attached, what are my options?!

Regards

tried a loft?  Probably will have to do as a surface and then sculpt it into a solid after.

use the existing side edges as rails and possibly add a new rail along the centre showing how you want the middle of the bottom face blending into the middle of the top face.

Humm,

I seem to have muddled through it now, I made the whole end piece square and just cut away from a side.
