problem with dim

Group,
I've seen this in 5.3 before, and stumbled over it again:
When an assy is slightly disaligned in space, and you create views of it
with standard orientation, it's impossible to put dims on some views. Very
annoying.

The answer depends on what you want to do. First, if you want the assembly
alligned in space, you have to constrain something to the origin planes. If, for
some reason you want to dim. it out of whack, you have to make a sketch in the
IDW view, project the geometry you want to dim, and dimension that. You can set
this to project automaticly in Application Options.

Thanks, Dave.
I know about the "realign in space" thing.
It's just difficult to align this object, it's an artist's work and has
almost no faces to be aligned to origin.
What I was doing was bring in one view off a design view, and make several
projected view off this. I could dim the first view, but none of the
subsequent ones.
This really looks like a bug to me.
