Hi all
Im having trouble linking a spread sheet to my part file. Reference to the spread sheet appear in both parameter manager and in the part list under "3rd party" But the parameter manager its greyed out ( see attached)
Things ive tried so far
1/ Tried linking a parameter from this part file to another ( to make sure the part file is OK) which works fine
2/ Tried saving the spread as xlr and xlrs formats ( thinking maybe the format is incorrect ...generated in office 2010)
3/ Check that the start cell is correct ( A1) ( and tried changing to another with numeric data
4/ Tried putting the spread sheet in part folder
5/ Tried putting the spread sheet in the project folder ( where the ipj is)
Ive also been thru various tutorial ( books and you tube) and im a bit lost as to why this doesnt work
All help appreciatted
Thanks

Does this happen with any xls file you create?
Have you used this technique before?
Can you attach the xls file here?

I found out that Inventor wont accept spaces in the names
As in " box lenght" doesnt work but "boxlenght" does
Ridiculos i know ...how much did we pay for this software and not a single word of this silly issue is mentioned in the documentation.
Thanks for wasting another frew hours of my life autodesk......
Thanks for replying anyway guys
Hello,
Im working with inventor 2022 and still expiriance the same problem for the last 3 inventor versions.
The more parts that are linked in a assemblie the more files need to be relinked which can make this problem an pain in the ***.
I suggest to link your excel to a part load the parameters in via the excel and then copy the parameters to use parameters. and control the part file with i logic.
