print current date and time in .idw drawing border

Is it possible to place into a text box something that displays the current date and time. I would like to have on the printed drawings the exact date and time when printed from inventor. I hae a small text box in the bottom corner of the border which prints the file name and sheet size but I would like to add the current date and time.

Hi,

That is a nice wish. However, Inventor does not currently have this functionality.

Your wish has been logged into our working dataset as # 877793.

Thanks

No this is not supported by Inventor still but here is some code that gets you pretty darn close.

Four years later.  Is this still the case?  there is no great method other then the ilogic routine in your link?

Hi Cadmanto,

Here is a link to the exhange app that nmunro mentioned:

https://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/INVNTOR/en/Detail/Index?id=appstore.exchange.autodesk.com%3Atimes...

Additionally, there is some iLogic at this link, along with an attached example *.idw file:

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

Thanks Curtis and Neil.

We are needing to put this in our formats and seeing this was a 4 year old thread that lead to a 2 year old thread, wasn't sure if something hadn't been done further about it.  This should really be an idea as a standard drawing property to input into the drawings.

Yes, please include a TIME STAMP feature !!

This is VERY HELPFUL for users like me that print several sheets of the same design after making small changes each time and then traveling to my printer after all have printed and mixed up by someone else who beats me to the printer 😞
