What files are required from Windows after a presentation files is recorded?

Will I need to pack and go the applicable files and include them with the

It depends on which codec you use.
If you have not installed any codec at all (except the ones that came eith Windows), you will get a huge file that will play without problems anywhere.

But If you use a better codec, like Techsmith, Divx or xvid,
then whoever that recieves your file will need to have installed the codec. If they have not done this already, You can give them a web-adress where they can download, or include the codec on the CD.
Then tell them to install the codec if they cannot view your avi-file.

Needs to be able to be opened under a standard
installed windows program such as media player.  This will be in install
video for the product in the field and area sales.

The file is about 40mb in a avi format which is ok
since it will run from a cd.

Short answer you just need the .avi file and no inventor files.

Have you tried to run it from a CD?  We tried
this with a 10MB file and the AVI from the CD was jerky etc.  Runing from
hard drive it was fine.

I tried it with a 48X CD drive - and it was still choppy for the first part
while it buffered.

I doubt if your going to be able to get an AVI file
to play from CD without being choppy using the standard codecs and even then its
questionable.  If playing from CD is the only way, use the DivX codec
(must be installed on other machines to playback) or I'm also a big fan of Bink
(www.radgametools.com) which is codec
comparable to Mpeg2 (DVD) and you can even embed the codec into an EXE file so
there aren't any installation issues.  The downside is that since it's
free, there will be a little splash screen at the end of the video (unless you
set it to repeat 🙂 which seems to workaround it) and people might be afraid of
EXE files.

BTW, what resolution is your video? Better keep it
small to playback from CD.

Yea, I figured that out as the day went on.

It is very jerky on the CD only but butter smooth on the Hdd.

Thanks for everyone's help
