Anyone have a Plotstamp routine for Inventor?

I have a time stamp that I have put on CF. It updates everytime you save
the drawing and uses the custom properties tab. I forget were I downloaded
it but I know it was from one of the guys in the IV newsgroup.

Thanks a bunch Rodney. Steve's time stamp places a time/date stamp in a
title block of a drawing once you make provision for it.

PlotStamp from AutoCAD places a full file path, date and time and source
mark in a designated corner of a print. It was great for making sure that
the discussion about something was using the latest version of the drawing
or six months after you could look in a file and see when something was
printed.

You know that you can do this in IV also, I have all of our title blocks
with a time, date, path of the file, and the file name on the title blocks
so that we know exactly what file was printed out. You use the path &
filename option in the model properties when you setup your title block.

OK for when I'm using a title block Rodney but what about the majority of
the time when I'm not.

Much of the time the print, which in my case come from a wide carriage HP
inkjet printer, are used to simply convey info to my customers about the
design intent before creating any detail dwgs. I also use prints to
accompany an FEA report.

The ability to stamp a print is of significant importance to me in all my
work. My customers use the stamp to make sure they have the latest version
of something I give them; I use it to make sure I'm working with the latest
version when I attend a meeting etc.

I do not understand the thinking process that would not incorporate such a
useful function in something as powerful at IV. Ditto with the missing full
file path at the top of the screen. When one has multiple projects going,
as I'm sure most of us do, having something to jog one's overcrowded mind
about what project the assm./part is from, is a real help. And the code to
do it already exists so what is the big deal to incorporate it. I realize
that the IV programmers have much bigger things to think about, but
providing some of the good things from the AutoCAD environment should be
relatively easy to do.
