Planetary gear. Sun stacionary

Hey.

I have on project and I need to create a position for ther planetary gear with the sun stacionary! but the constrains are not working...

What could I do. I am using rotations as one the constrains, but the planet gear are not rotating around the sun(fixed) but the ring gear are rotating automaticly.

Thanks

Have you installed all Service Packs for your version of Inventor?

You have a lot of redundant geometry and constraints in your assembly.

Your Sun gear is not grounded?

There is no need to create Axis in parts - it already exists.

Once I deleted all the redundant stuff and properly constrained - the assembly worked as expected.

Unfortunately I am using a later version and you would not be able to open my files.

Of course it is impossible to have both this constraint and the sun fixed for the assembly to have any remaining degrees of freedom.

Hmm. Rotational constraints in similar like planetary gears are a matter of luck. See attached IAM (2012, all parts are unchanged)

If you move by mouse the planet gear, it's looking good.

Smiley Embarassed But now move the ring gear.
