Pipe Quantity as Length not as number of pipes in total

Hi,

I have published a part as pipe to the content center and have set it up so I choose the pipe size, schedule number, material grade and can input length I require however in the BOM it shows the pipe in the quantity field as the total number of pipes instead of the length of the pipe.

Does anyone know how to fix this and do they have the correct procedure for publishing such a part?

thanks

Grant

Open the part file and select Document Settings.

Click on the Bill of Materials tab.

In the Base Quantity drop down, select the parameter you are using for your length input.

Select the base units from the drop down.

Republish the part.

Thanks Bob,

I thought the answer would be quite simple.

Much appreciated!

I would not change the document properties at all. I would get BOM and Parts List to report ITEM QTY instead of QTY.

I tried this, however my settings kept resetting back to the standard quantity after exiting the document settings menu. Do you i know if there is a reason for that?

thank you,

Hi! Yes, it was a bug. It has been fixed on 2019.3 or 2019.4 update.

Many thanks!
