Photos in drawing

It appears that anytime I insert a BMP in my IDW using the sketch symbol, causs the drawing not to be able to save? Why would this be? Should the BMP's be in the same directory as the drawing?

Thx

Kev

Seeing BMP files are larger then JPG files is it possible a space issue?

Would inserting  JPG image work as well and possibly better?

Just found out that jpegs can't be inserted.  Sorry about that!!!

You can do doc or excel files though.  Wondering if the doc file would give you different results.

JPG can be used since 2013 in symbols.

It does not really matter where the bitmap lives (as we hardcode the location) as long as you don't move it around after you use it.

As a test I would make sure to place the BMP in a location where you can save and access it without any access restrictions.

Are you admin on your machine?

What is your default BMP editor on your machine and does the editor work correctly?

What version of Inventor are you using?
