PHANTOM PART IN ASSEMBLY MATING PROBLEM

Hello everyone,

Here is my problem, one of the part of an assembly I'm working on has a phantom part. The problem with it is that I can't mate it properly since I can only mate its axis, but none of its face. The CAD is from the Internet. There is a linked image of my problem below.

Thanks to any response !

He meant to upload the file in question so we can see it because it does not make sense that you can't constrain its faces..

A part being "phantom" has NO effect on how it can be constrained..

I suspect you are using the word phantom to mean something other than what phantom is in terms of Inventor.

Phantom is a non-stocking subassembly where the components are pushed up into the upper levels parts list/bom

I was able to move it ..constraint it ...adjust the constraint on it with no problem.

can you give us a screen shot when you're trying the constraint?

Here it is, the black arrow represents my mouse. From the beginning, I have to wait until Inventor shows me the scrolling menu for selection (it does not recognize the face at first), then, I'm not able to select any other face. Could it has something to do with the fact that there is a tack on the icon of the part ? (see image below).

Thank you.
