Perspective views export

When exporting to a DWG (2000/2002) with perspective views, the following corruption occurs. Is this a known problem, and are
there any work arounds? Exporting as DWF is fine, but the client needs to add additional information and export parts of it to
DXF for manufacture which is not possible with a DWF.

Hi John

This is a known issue. It was fixed in R6 SP2 but became broken again in R7.
This is now being addressed

Inventor exports to AutoCAD? Who knew?

LOL, how do you re-break something you already fixed?

Come on John, this is an old one....
As a workaround, I've been getting customers to open the IDW in R6 sp2 just
to export it.

Only problem is that Autodesk say you have to remove R6 after installing
R7... But I'm sure they won't mind in this instance.

On a lighter note, the developers finally found the pictures I took at Nice
so they'll be on an email in the next day or two. You come out of it fairly
well, I think my camera had run out before you got to the really drunk stage
(about 9 o'clock as I recall!)

My guess would be that it was fixed initially, and then fixed something else
which interacted with this and then it broke again.

Sure I understand regressions but there was a move from AutoCAD 2002 to 2004
from 6 to 7. This should have been on the list of things of "things we
fixed" and hence included in the new build.

Mistakes happen. We all know that. However making the same mistake twice
is not as understandable.

Sean,

You are of course correct.

If it is any consolation, I am led to believe that this is currently
resolved in a development build.

That probably means that it is fixed in R8, and will get broken again in
R8sp1 🙂

Yeah OK I should have known about this, but I'm still in holiday mode - amother week in the S. of France staying with my sister
but no wild nights this time!
