Path problem

Inventor people,
Need your help...........I'm having trouble moving drawings from one
stand alone machine to another. The drawings will only open on the
machine they were created on. I'm using Inventor 5.3. I know I have a
path problem but don't know how to resolve it.
Appreciate any input.

Use project files and be sure to name ALL folders EXACTLY the same on each
machine. Create a single project file for each project and copy to each
machine.
Hopefully that will get you headed in the right direction.

Hal,
Appreciate the reply, but still having problems. Did what you suggested about
the project files now I'm getting an error dialogue box, "Error in reading
RSe segment streamer".
Any suggestions.
Thanks

Sounds like you are trying to open a file from R6.

The RSe error is typical of trying to open a file created on a newer version
of software with an older version. I have had a corrupted file show that
error message also. Is it just one file or several? What storage medium
are you using for the "sneaker net", floppy, zip disk or CD? It could be a
corruption during the write process.

Thanks for the reply............
The problem I'm having is that I create the drawings at home, move them
to another stand alone for editing and critiquing. On that machine it
shows up fine. The other machine has 5.3 also. When I copy them back
onto my zip disk(Iomega100)and then reload them back into the original
progect on my machine at home, I get the error dialogue box.

Check to see if the files got flagged as "read-only" on the zip disk and on
the machine with issues.

Try some other types of files also. Depending on the age of the Iomega
drive (3-5 years old) it could be the problem also. The 100 drives were
subject to read/write malfunctions. The problems showed up suddenly.
