Parts Lists

Make an iPart out of it. You can specify different sizes, materials, part
numbers, etc. You may find what you want here
http://www.cbliss.com/inventor/
For tutorials on iParts go here http://www.sdotson.com

Refresh my memory about iParts. After you have created the iPart factory,
when you place it in an assembly you are promted to select the instance you
want to create aren't you? Would this then save a 'local' copy of that iPart
into the project directory you are working out of? We have not switched to
inventor yet, still on MDT6. At one point we were trained on IV6 but it's
all becoming a blur now...

Jacob,
It depends on how you set up your Project file. First, it's necessary to
decide where you want to store the iPart Factory Member. Do you want them in
the same location on the server or local to each project. Read Sean's
tutorial on "How to setup your file system to use iParts"
http://www.sdotson.com/tutorials.asp .
It wouldn't hurt to read up on how to set up Project (.ipj) files too. Look
for the document on your Inventor Install CD or
go here http://mymcad.com/inventorfaq_answer9802.html
