Parts List row merge: by something other than part number

Is it possible to merge parts list rows based on a custom iProp instead of part number? I have parts that have a material based part number. I want them to merge, but not all on one line. Some of them are cut to one length (specified with a custom iProp called "length") and some to another. I know I could do a work around by putting the material part number as a custom iProp and hiding display of the actual part number and changing it to whatever I need to combine rows as I want. However, My model is being generated with a form and some iLogic code. I have several different models because they all change around based on inputs. Sometimes they're identical, sometimes they're not. So to sum up my sloppy post, can I use anything besides the part number as a basis for row merging?
