Parts list / Rev box justification - spacing

Inventor Series 2008 -
I would like to left justify things in the parts list, with one-two spaces between the vertical line between columns. The part name runs almost into the lines, otherwise.
One workaround is to add filler in the part name in iProperties.

I've checked time and again for a setting in the styles under part list, without finding something obvious. Is there a way to do this? (I've also searched this discussion -- if it's here, point me in the right direction, please.)

Same problem exists for rev tables -- you can have center justification, or left or right, but you abut the delimiters (pretty close, anyway.)

Thanks, John

In the part list styles you can define the width of each column..Is that not what you want?
All your part numbers are the same number of characters correct?

Are you asking that you want it to dynamically change based on the length of the longest part number or something?

Thanks for the response.
No, column width doesn't provide the formatting I'm asking for. And no, I'm not asking for it to dynamically change. I just wish to offset the text about 1-2 spaces.

Pretend this is my part name in the box, the vertical character is the vertical line

The parts list looks like
|ROUND BODY

What I want it to look like is
| ROUND BODY

You should be able to put space between the text and the vertical line. Column spacing doesn't do it.
Change the column spacing, and you get
|ROUND BODY | with spaces after it (assuming it's left justified.

________
Yes, we could pad each part name by one-two space characters. This is a nuisance downstream, for lots of other reasons.

I think this setting must exist, I just haven't found it.

No it doesn't exist as an option for you to adjust.. No option for column left and right "padding"

Are you using a wide line width for the parts list or something?
My parts lists and rev tables have plenty of space to make it easy to read.

You want an option for "column gap" just like they already have "row gap" and "heading gap"

John,

Try increasing the "row gap" in your parts list style. This will increase
the clearance between the vertical line and the text. Unfortunately, it
will also increase the row height, too. You may be able to find a
compromise value.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work for revision tables.

Yes, a column gap is what I was looking for. Thank you both, I'll try the row gap setting.
