part "transparent" in IDW

this is an interesting issue, I have an assembly, quite large, with 4 Tires on it. they are all the same tire, in fact they are wheels. 3 of these wheels show up as expected, not transparent and they block the lines behind them, just like i want. But one stubborn SOB has dashed lines and I can see the lines of parts behind it. Not what i want. I cant find any setting or anything on this one wheel.
They are all just instances of the same wheel assembly by the way. Why is this one wheel transparent?
I am using IV 10 SP3 on win XP Pro, AMD Opteron 252, quadroFX 3400, 2gb ram. This isnt critical, just an awful annoyance.

It sounds like this one wheel is set to a reference. Right click on it in the model and see what the BOM structure is.
