part of my screen is black

I'm having a video problem. In IV, part of the display area is black when
editing either an idw or an iam. Has anyone seen this happen?

ATI graphics card?

Usually with "non-CAD" cards, you'll see the bottom and right hand sides of
the graphics window become black - especially with ATI Rage type cards.

What's your spec? OS, Graphics cards, RAM etc...?

It worked flawlessly before. I have been out for a few weeks and I'm sure
someone was playing around with the system. I re-installed the video
drivers, but that did nothing.

Kevin,

You better open the box and make sure that Quadro is still in there.

Are you indeed running optimization on the hardware tab in App Options?

I have a Quadro 4 900XGL card and use dual monitor on a P4 2.5 3GHz with 1G
of RAM and it does this sometimes also (very seldom, not enough to
complain). All I do to "fix" it is reboot and the problem goes away. It
happens at random but it might be related to the number of crashes I get
during the day (either other applications or IV crashing).
I also have the "Override recommended setting - use Full optimization..."
selected.

I'm not getting the message that the case has been opened when I boot up. My
old dell did that after I opened it to add RAM. So I am assuming nobody
traded video cards.

I reinstalled the video drivers yet again and it looks better in IV. The
icons on my desktop are still grainy looking though (set to true color and
1280x1024). I'm not sure what is going on here. I'm taking the box home with
me next time!

Don't be to sure. If you after opening the chassis enter the Bios you can
reset the message so nobody can know if anyone have opened your chassis.
Better check it anyway to make sure your card still is a Quadro and not a
ATI or worse.
