Part has gaps in corners

Hi,

I have attached a part. On the four corners of the front face there is large gaps. I am unable to use the seam comand to fix these. Has anyone any idea of how i can close them?

Many thanks

The gaps are there so the part can be made. If it was gapless it wouldn't be possible to make from sheetmetal.

By the way, I suggest you start learning how to use contour flange.

Try changing your sheet metal setup to (corner - Linear Weld)

Not knowing the intent of the part, I looks like a simple design would be

easier to make.

Would contour flange help improve this box?

Many thanks for any help. Pretty new to inventor.

Hi,

Personally, looking at the frame a much simplified design for production would be better (but I don't know the design intent so it’s only my 2 pence worth). Both flange and contour flange have their advantages, contour flange means you can draw (say) 3 folds in a sketch in one op. rather than using flange command 3 times.

The more you use these commands you will find what works best for you, a bit like driving a car - We all talk a good talk as if were racing car drivers (ha ha)

Google JD Mather from this site, he is an Inventor Guru
