Panning with keyboard arrow keys

Hi,
I have just noticed that while in Isometric view I can Pan an item in the
window by pressing the arrow keys on a keyboard. One thing however is that
to pan to the right side of the screen I have to press left arrow key. It is
sort of pressing the "wrong" key to get the model slide to the "right"
direction.
Regards,
Igor.

You're moving the point of view, not the model...

There is always an explanation to anything, isn't it? Unless, of course,
something can not be explain at all.

Igor.

Trying to pan with arrow keys.

Left and right arrow keys move objects up and down, but up and down arrow keys have no effect.

How can I fully use arrow keys for panning.

I don't have 2012 and never tried panning with keyboard before, but just tested with 2013 and it worked fine.

I just discovered that orientation of the model makes a difference.

With the view cube oriented to top, left and right arrows work properly, but up and down do not.

With the view cube oriented to front, all arrows work properly.

So, the arrow keys reference the model and not the screen view.

It appears that the arrow keys simply move the "camera" (operators point of view) in the X and Y directions, regardless of view orientation.  You can see it in any orientation if you change to Perspective view.  With the cube oriented to Top, the up/down arrows move you further away from/closer to the model.
