Ordinate Origin

I need to ordinate dimension plates using the center point of the plate as the origin point. Currently I put a small hole through the center point of the plate model so I can pick up on this hole as the origin point for dimensioning.
Is there a better way of doing this?

In the idw sketch the center of the plate (however you want).
Place your origin point, then change the sketch geometry to sketch only.

Not sure why we can't use work features to place origin points. At leat not in IV10.

I am able to place the origin to the plate center. Please see my attached
picture. I am using IV11.

There should be a hot point in the plate center available for selection when
you are specifying the origin of ordinate dimensions. You can highlight the
plate circle first and then pick the hot point.

Thanks,

I logged it as a wish list item # 825899.

Thanks for your feedback,

I hope it reads. Make work features more usefull in the drawing. This would be the more productive wish.

All sarcasm aside...

Can you please expand on your comment, "Make work features more useful in
the drawing"?
This is a fairly vague request which I want to make sure we don't
misinterpret.

Sorry to be jumping in in the middle here, but if you would just
open up the API to include the ability to work with selected
workfeatures (workpoints) in a drawing, then we could develop
our own useful functionality!

"All sarcasm aside..."

I didn't mean it as sarcasm.

Use it to place origin.
Use it to project geometry in an idw sketch.

Anyone else care to contribute?
