Opening AutoCad Parts -won't work

I am trying to open a simple Acad 2004 solid model as a part in Inventor 7
and encounter the following error message.

[ERROR] STG_E_PATHNOTFOUND ($80030003)

[ERROR] The database in C:\Acad-utl-2002\Inventor\To Inventor
7\TemplatesEnglish\do-1 (in).ipt could not be opened
[r:\core\rse\database\databaseC.cpp, line 603]

I have tried every which way in the DWG File Import Option but can't get it
to work. I can bring a 2D drawing into a part file but not a solid model. Is
it even possible to bring in an Acad solid model?

Any help would be appreciated!

Steve

If it truly is a acad solid, you could open it in Acad and do a acisout,
then open the resultant sat file in Inventor. It should work just
importing it also though.
